Coach Kim Miller has recently taken over the Varsity Competitive Cheer team to rebuild the program. She comes from a very experienced background in cheer, cheering in high school and college, as well as coaching before coming to Quincy. Coach Miller competed as back spot in high school and a flier in college.
“I want to establish competitive as a serious sport in Quincy. I want our team to work together, respect each other and respect all those we come in contact with. We are going to work hard this year and hopefully place well in our competitions,” Coach MIller said.
Coach Miller coaches because being part of a team helps to teach time management, teamwork, commitment and overall helps kids to succeed in life. Being involved in sports also gives kids a safe place to learn how to work though interpersonal problems.
“I learned so much though being involved in sports in high school and college and I love the chance to give that same opportunity to the kids in Quincy,” Coach Miller said.
According to Coach Miller cheer is a little bit different than most sports because you have to have an extreme trust and respect among the team members in order for the team to work. Once this trust and respect are established, amazing bonds are formed among team members.
Thank you Coach Miller.
