At the Quincy School Board meeting on Monday night, the Board approved renovation projects for both the Varsity Baseball and Varsity Softball Fields. The renovations will be carried out by Duraedge, a company based in Hudson, MI, and will involve 100 tons of infield mix and 6 tons of topdressing. The project is scheduled to take place after the spring season, around August or September.

The renovations include reworking the infield topography, laser grading, trimming, lip removal, applying topdressing, installing products, a second laser grading, and field grooming.

Quincy Athletic Director Chris Gerlach stated, "These field renovations will be a breath of fresh air for the programs after a challenging spring filled with weather-related cancellations. The added material will allow us to use the fields more often after rainy days and may enable us to host more district games in the future. Our Baseball and Softball teams work tirelessly to maintain their fields and prepare them for game days. This project will elevate their efforts and ensure that we continue to have a couple of the best fields around."

Duraedge, the company handling the renovation, is the official infield installation partner for Minor League Baseball and also completed the field renovation for the Detroit Tigers this year.
