This week, all 5th grade students worked with experts from Meyer Music to choose which instrument they would like to play in 6th grade band next year! Every student gets to try the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and trombone! We are also holding tryouts for percussion. Today, Mr. Miller’s students found themselves trapped in a high-stakes science showdown! 🌪️🧠
They had to solve 15 weather-themed puzzles to "escape" before a fictional storm locked them in forever (or at least until the bell rang). 😱
Good news: the storm was kind enough to hit the pause button ⏸️—it won't officially "lock them in" until Monday. So they have the weekend to study... or maybe just nervously check the forecast. 😉
Stay tuned for updates from Escape the Storm: Part 2 coming Monday!

Another reason we love our alumni!
QHS Robotics team, the Qbots, would like to give a shout out for the donated trailer in honor of the late Richard D. Klepack, a 1969 graduate of Quincy High School. Mr. Klepack was a life-long resident and farmer of Quincy and known as both an engineer and master mechanic himself. Frank and Jaimie Tobalski (also QHS alumni) chose to honor him with this donation, which will greatly help the team transport their robot to and from competitions. Thank you also to Jacqueline Reynolds, QHS alumni and co-sponsor of the team, for coordinating the donation.
Once an Oriole, always an Oriole!

Go BIG Qbots! Shout out to the awesome work creating this competitive robot by Quincy’s own robotics team.

Shout out to Mr. Bill Heffner! Mr. Heffner assists with Mr. Demeuse , our behavior interventionist, at the high school and middle school. He is a great cheerleader for all Quincy students, helping the problem solve and providing a smiling face. He shares his positive attitude with all students and staff alike. Thank you, Mr. Heffner, for always cheering Orioles on! (Pictured is exchange student Isabelle with Mr. Heffner)

Mrs. Barve's Earth Science students have been studying severe weather, which goes along perfectly with the wild Michigan weather we have been having lately. Students built small scale extreme weather shelters, and tested their builds with "tornado" (one hair dryer) and "hurricane" (two hair dryers) force winds. Round Two!
